Derbyshire will host Lancashire in a NatWest T20 Blast 2015 game this Friday evening and you can get all your Derbyshire v Lancashire betting tips below.
Derbyshire won by five wickets and with 14 balls to spare. Wayne White grabbed a three-wicket haul to help reduce Lancashire to just 127 for nine in their 20 overs. Hashim Amla and T Dilshan then shared a 93-run stand for the first wicket to ensure Derbyshire would win in style.
Story so far:
It’s still early days in the NatWest T20 Blast but it’s easy to see which way this game could be headed. Despite the presence of Hashim Amla in their side, Derbyshire have not only lost both their games so far but also lost them convincingly at that.
It started with an under-par display with the bat that saw them bowled out for 128 with 10 balls to spare against Yorkshire. None of the batsmen even got to 30, and their opponents got to the target with 20 deliveries to spare. At least Ben Cotton bowled out his four overs and ended with figures of 2-19.
And while Chesney Hughes carved out a half-century for them in their next game, they still weren’t able to prevent Leicestershire from getting to the target of 164. Again, Cotton was steady but there were far too many runs that came at the other end.
Lancashire would have thought they were in with a chance to make it two wins from two games but for their brain-fade against Durham in the second game. After triggering an excellent collapse that saw Durham lose eight wickets for 50 runs thanks to Arron Lilley’s 2-18 from four, Ashwell Prince hammered a 51-ball 78 but none of the other Lancashire batsmen did anything of note.
This was after they had edged out Leicestershire in their opening game off the last ball thanks to captain Steven Croft’s 70 that came off just 39 balls. George Edwards took four wickets too.
Interestingly, Tillaratane Dilshan will make his Derbyshire debut in this game but but remains to be seen if he can adapt to the conditions quickly enough.
Ben Cotton (Derbyshire):
Cotton’s bowling has been difficult to get away in this competition so far and he could be the one to stall the opposition’s innings early. If Lancashire look to take him on, there is every chance of him getting early wickets too.
Alviro Petersen (Lancashire):
It looks like Petersen is getting wasted down the order and will need to be either sent up or start playing his role better than he has so far. We trust him to come good in this one.
Derbyshire v Lancashire head to head:
Lancashire have a rather good record against Derbyshire, having won 13 matches to their seven defeats in T20 cricket. One other game ended in a tie too.
