Durham v Worcestershire betting tips NatWest T20 Blast 2015

Durham host Worcestershire in their NatWest T20 Blast 2015 match this Friday with a continuing top spot in the group at stage for the Chester-le-Street-based side. Check out the latest Durham v Worcestershire betting tips.

Worcestershire have managed to get the better of the league-toppers, Durham by three runs.

Story so far:

After starting off with a couple of wins in the competition over Northamptonshire and Lancashire, Durham fell to a defeat to Leicestershire. They came back to defeat Yorkshire and Derbyshire, which sandwiched a loss at the hands of Nottinghamshire.

Last week, they also fell to Warwickshire after falling to a below-par total and Ian Bell’s smashing 90 at the top of the innings. What made it tough for them was the absence of Ben Stokes’ bowling, which went for 44 from his three overs. Stokes won’t be available for this game anyway because of his national commitments, so it remains to be seen whether that helps the side.

Worcestershire came into the tournament a tad later than others, and started off with a defeat to Warwickshire before overcoming Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. However, much like their opponents, Durham, Worcestershire are coming off a defeat last week too.

They went down to Nottinghamshire as they fell short of their opponents’ 169 by 11 runs. Moeen Ali scored 36 but noone in their order went on to get anything more than that which was their problem.

Key Players:

Moeen Ali (Worcestershire):

Because of his time with the England team, Moeen has played just two matches but in those two he has had scores of 90 and 36. Dropped from the limited-overs side to focus on his red-ball cricket, Moeen seems to have done well in T20 cricket and we can expect him to get going yet again. Of course, he hasn’t had the best of times with the ball, something that the Worcs would love him to change.

Usman Arshad (Durham):

Arshad continues to dominate the bowling charts, having picked up 12 wickets from seven games. While he might have played a couple of extra games, he is at the top of the overall wicket-taking list for the season and his medium-pace bowling has made it tough for opposition at different times in the tournament. And the fact his best haul in the tournament is just a two-for, it points to an excellent consistency in bowling.

Durham v Worcestershire head to head:

The head to head is 3-1 in favour of Durham with their last two games last season ending in a one apiece for both teams.
