Story so far:

With both teams about to be involved in the World T20 2015 Qualifier next month, this will work out to be a great opportunity to get their line-ups right and get some practice under their belts.

Ireland will be led by Kevin O’Brien instead of their usual captain William Porterfield, who is back in England playing county cricket. Also missing from the Ireland will be Niall O’Brien and Gary Wilson, both of whom will also be involved in county cricket this month.

20-year old allrounder Tyrone Kane and wicketkeeper Stuart Poynter have been drafted into the Ireland side for this series.

Among others in the Ireland line-up, opening batsman Paul Stirling is coming off some form in recent times, having smashed a 146 in their Intercontinental Cup game and also hit 88 and 90 in a couple of NatWest T20 Blast encounters. Left-arm spinner George Dockrell will be another to watch out, having picked up seven wickets in a game against UAE.

Scotland had earlier dropped former captain Kyle Coetzer from the line-up but he has now made it back in place of Freddie Coleman. The side will be led by Preston Mommsen while there were inclusions of Craig Wallace and George Munsey.

Missing from the squad is Majid Haq who had faced disciplinary action during the World Cup, while Matt Machan has opted out of the team.
