This Friday’s NatWest T20 Blast game will have Gloucestershire host Somerset at Bristol. Some of the Warwickshire v Leicestershire betting tips can be found below.
Leicestershire won by seven wickets.
Story so far:
The defending champions Birmingham Bears, or Warwickshire are on a roll. Having started off their campaign with a defeat, the Bears have now won four matches in a row to jump up to eight points from five. They are second on the table on net run-rate to Durham who have the same points from three more games played.
Leicestershire are a point behind Warwickshire but have played a game more than them. They started off with a defeat but after that have only lost one of their next five matches and are third on the points table.
However, while Warwickshire will continue being bolstered by their top-notch line-up in William Porterfield, Ian Bell and Varun Chopra, Leicestershire will miss out on the services of Kevin O’Brien. Interesting, O’Brien will take over Ireland’s captaincy in place of Porterfield for their game against Scotland.
With O’Brien being their best batsman of the competition so far, it could be a body blow, but they do have his brother, Niall O’Brien who has opted to stay behind with the side.
Players to watch out:
Ian Bell (Warwickshire):
In their previous game, Bell was the top-scorer, helping the side win a rain-hit game in which they were left to chase down 98 from 11 overs. Bell made a cracking 38 off just 24 deliveries to give them just the kind of start they needed to romp home to a victory. He’s just played two games this season so far and has done well both times – 90 being his other effort.
Niall O’Brien (Leicestershire):
He has batted four times this tournament, scored 73 runs but has been dismissed just once. His strike-rate is 140, which is perfect as a finisher but this could be a good time to come higher up the order. He hasn’t had too much at the crease in this format and has generally struggled in the lead-up to this game but the extra pressure should help him come good.
Warwickshire v Leicestershire head to head:
Warwickshire lead 4-2 on head to head having won both their matches last season against Leicestershire by 25 and 52 runs respectively.
Warwickshire v Leicestershire betting tips:
Warwickshire to win: 8/13
Ian Bell to be Warwickshire’s top batsman: 12/5
Niall O’Brien to be Leicestershire’s top batsman
Match starts at 6.30 pm local time (1730 hours GMT) on June 19.
