The St. Lucia Zouks will welcome the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel to their Beausejour Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia. Here’re the latest St. Lucia Zouks v Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel betting tips.
The match was abandoned due to rain after Andre Fletcher (57) and Kevin Pietersen (42) propelled St. Lucia to 179 in their 20 overs. Both teams got one point apiece.
Story so far:
The 2014 version of this fixture saw the Red Steel being victorious by two runs having chased down the Zouks’ score of 117. In that match, the Red Steel bowling attack had three persons taking 3 wickets each in Shannon Gabriel, Dwayne Bravo and Kevon Cooper.
Sulieman Benn also joined in taking 1 wicket while Samuel Badree, although not taking any wickets stifled the Zouks batsmen with an economy rate of a mere 2.50.
With three of the four bowlers still very much a part of the Red Steel squad and now joined by the experienced and versatile all-rounder Jacques Kallis, the Red Steel should prove to be too much of a formidable opponent for the Zouks.
Bowler Shannon Gabriel and middle-order batsman Ross Taylor have switched sides with both now playing for a seemingly much improved St. Lucia squad.
In the 2014 fixture, the Red Steel only needed Kevin O’Brien, West Indian Evin Lewis with a top score of 59, New Zealand middle order batsman Ross Taylor with 35 runs and West Indian Nicholas Pooran to complete the Red Steel’s 8-wicket victory over the Zouks with 31 balls to spare.
With only 4 of the Zouks squad able to make it into double figures and Andre Fletcher top-scoring with 24 runs, the Red Steel’s domination of the Zouks is evident.
What is expected in this fixture is a victory for the Red Steel although, perhaps, not as dominant a victory. Although batting options have weakened with O’Brien and Taylor no longer part of the Red Steel team, the Zouks’ loss of Sohail Tanvir in their bowling attack along with the Red Steel’s bowling attack may be too potent an attack for the Zouks.
Players to watch out:
Jacques Kallis (Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel):
With almost 4,000 T20 runs and 100 T20 wickets to his name, Kallis will look to strengthen an already strong bowling attack and add to the runs in a weakened batting attack for the Red Steel. Look out for the dominant South African to add his experience to the squad who will look to move past the semi-finals, into the finals and be the eventual victors of this, the 3rd edition of the CPL.
Kevin Pietersen (St. Lucia Zouks):
The top-order English batsman will look to continue his excellent first class form that saw blast 355 unbeaten runs for Surrey against Leicester last month. With his ability to dismantle any bowling attack at his very best, Pietersen will look to anchor his team to victory against what many think will be one of the best bowling attacks of this CPL season.

Of the three matches played between these two teams, St. Lucia are yet to win even one. And by the looks of things, it could well be a fourth successive win for the Red Steel.
