Warwickshire host Yorkshire in this Sunday’s NatWest T20 Blast game at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Some of the Warwickshire v Yorkshire betting tips can be found below.
Warwickshire won by six wickets with 10 balls to spare.
Story so far:
The teams are competing in the North Group of the NatWest T20 Blast with the hosts in fourth position on the points table. Warwickshire have won four of their six games at the Blast this season and a win on Sunday will take them to second place.
Yorkshire are further down the table with three wins from six games. However, a win in this contest will lift them above Warwickshire in the standings courtesy of a superior net run rate.
Yorkshire are coming off a big win over Nottinghamshire at Headingley the other day. Glenn Maxwell’s superb innings helped them to a 40-run win over Notts on Thursday. Prior to that, the side were victims of the D/L method batting first as they went down to Northamptonshire on June 14.
Their other defeats at the Blast had come against Lancanshire on June 5 when the visitors scored the winner off the last ball of the match, and at Durham when they fell six runs short. The side had got off to a winning start with a seven-wicket win over Derbyshire on May 15 and followed it up with another win over Nottinghamshire.
Warwickshire lost their last match to Leicestershire when the latter were able to chase down a 160-run target with more than an over to spare. Their other loss had come in their season opener at Nottinghamshire.
Worwickshire have won their games against Worcestershire, Northamptonshire, Durham and Nottinghamshire. The side have been able to dominate proceedings on most of their games and will be hoping for success on Sunday.
Players to watch out:
William Porterfirld (Warwickshire):
The Irish batsman has been the top scorer for Warwickshire this year with 201 runs in six games at an average of 67. He remained unbeaten in games against Northamptonshire (55), Durham (41), and Notts (37), and stroked his way to a quick 40 runs before being dismissed against Leicestershire. He has been a steady presence for his side in their batting order and will again be the key against Yorkshire.
Glenn Maxwell (Yorkshire):
The Australian batsman is known to be someone who has the ability to manipulate any field and take the game away from his opponents. He slammed an unbeaten 92 runs in their last game against Notts and will be looking to produce something similar.
Maxwell is a confidence player with the bat and when he finds form, bowlers are usually in an awful lot of trouble. He has been handy with the ball as well, taking two wickets against Notts and three against Lancashire.
Warwickshire v Yorkshire head to head:
Warwickshire lead Yorkshire 4-1 on head to head but it might be a tad different this time especially given the presence of their hard-hitting talent.
Warwickshire v Yorkshire betting tips:

Glenn Maxwell or Aaron Finch to be Yorkshire’s top batsman: 3/1 apiece
