India will be fighting for pride when they take on Bangladesh in the third and the final ODI at Dhaka on Wednesday. The Bangladesh v India 3rd ODI betting tips follow.
India won by 77 runs after scoring 317 for six and restricting Bangladesh to 240 all out.
Bangladesh have already won the series and India will be fighting to not be whitewashed in the series. Not too many would have guessed this result but we always reckoned that for Bangladesh to be 3/1 to win an ODI in this series was too long and there was money to be made there.
Still, admittedly, for India to lose both the ODIs so easily is shocking. It’s almost like the Indian team did not turn up for the series and excuses are now being searched for what went wrong with the same set that made the semi-finals in the World Cup.
A lot of credit must go to the manner in which the Bangladeshi bowlers have choked the Indian batsmen, with Mustafizur Rahman going on to reap dividends. His bowling hasn’t particularly looked menacing but we don’t argue with statistics – his 11 wickets from two games has ensured that.
Shikhar Dhawan was searching for form in the first game but hit a fifty last match, while MS Dhoni chipped in with 47 coming in at four for India. And yet, India were bowled out for 200 from their 45 overs, such was the poor effort from their batsmen.
Apart from Rahman, Nasir Hossain ended his 10 overs with figures of 2/33, including the wicket of Virat Kohli. In reply, India failed to drill through the top-order, allowing the Bangladesh batsmen starts.
There were 30s for Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim while Shakib al Hasan hit a unbeaten half-century to guide the side through a win.
Players to watch out for:
Bangladesh fast bowlers:
It’s been an effort par excellence from the Bangladeshi speedsters. While Rahman has gotten all the wickets, the trio of Taskin Ahmed, Mahsrafe Mortaza and Rubel Hossain have done a lot of damage by choking the supply-lines – the singles and twos. Expect them to come good yet again.
Rohit Sharma (India):
Sure he was dismissed for a duck in the second ODI but had looked good in the first game and is coming off a century the last time these two sides had met. If he can get off to a start, he might end up punishing the bowling and take the pressure off the other end but he needs to bat out the first 10 overs or so.
Bangladesh v India ODIs head to head:
It’s 25-5 in favour of India after having lost these two ODIs in a row.
