Lancashire’s second successive NatWest T20 Blast match will be televised live on TV when they host the table-toppers Warwickshire on Friday. The Lancashire v Warwickshire betting tips for this NatWest T20 Blast 2015 encounter can be seen below.
Warwickshire win by one run with James Faulkner top-scoring for Lancashire as predicted!
With 10 points from seven games, the defending champions Birmingham Bears, or Warwickshire, are looking to make another quarter-finals. A couple of wins from now on should seal the deal and they have one of the under-performers of the season, Lancashire against them.
The reason one would like to term Lancashire as laggards so far is they have won just three of their seven games. While they are still in with a chance to go the distance, a lot could depend on how Lancashire go on Thursday when they play Durham.
Update: Lancashire are coming off a win over Durham in their previous game, which improves their chances of making the quarter-final.
A loss there will put Lancashire under a lot of pressure going into this game having lost two matches in a row already. The good news for Lancashire is those two defeats – to Worcestershire and Northamptonshire – were close enough for either side to clinch and that should give them some heart.
Warwickshire started off with a defeat before reeling off four wins in a row. A loss to Leicestershire followed before they crushed Yorkshire last week by six wickets as Recordo Gordon picked up three and William Porterfield and Tim Ambrose hit 40s.
Players to watch out for:
James Faulkner (Lancashire):
The reason why I mention Faulkner for the second game in a row is because of his form. While it’s tough to see him end up being the top-scorer for three games in a row – he hit a half-century last week too – it’s tougher to have him fail twice in a row. He will be there with the bat or the ball to do some damage for his side.
William Porterfield (Warwickshire):
With 243 runs in the competition so far including a 40 last game, Porterfield has the highest number of runs for his side in the competition. Having scored just one fifty so far, the Irish captain has shown his consistency and one can expect him to chip in with another start. Can he last the distance though?
Lancashire v Warwickshire head to head:
Lancashire have an excellent record against Warwickshire, having won five of their six previous games. Warwickshire have won just one.
Lancashire v Warwickshire betting tips:
Warwickshire to win: 8/11
James Faulkner to be Lancashire’s top batsman: 5/1
Porterfield to be Warwickshire’s top batsman
Match starts at 6.30 pm local time (1730 hours GMT) on June 26.
