Nottinghamshire v Northamptonshire betting tips & predictions T20 Blast 2015

Nottinghamshire take on Northamptonshire in their NatWest T20 Blast match on Saturday and the Nottinghamshire v Northamptonshire betting tips for this encounter can be found below.

Result:

Nottinghamshire won by seven wickets with nine balls to spare.

Overview:

Both teams have a game to play on Friday, before they take each other on in this encounter on Saturday, so things could change dramatically as far as the points table is concerned.

For now though, the two sides are in the bottom half of the points table, with Northamptonshire having seven points and Nottinghamshire on six, with both having played seven matches. Three of the five teams above Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire have played at least eight matches apiece, given them a game in hand.

Northamptonshire made a poor start to the competition, as they lost three in a row. From then on though, they have won three and one of their games was washed out. And it’s been a concerted effort, led by Richard Levi, Shahid Afridi and Azharullah.

Afridi will miss this game but the side will welcome the return of David Willey, who was away representing England against New Zealand.

Nottinghamshire will be a happy bunch too, with Alex Hales’ return but there will be no Darren Sammy who’s back in the West Indies playing the CPL. Unlike the Northants, Nottinghamshire are coming off successive defeats and a win here will do them a world of good.

They do have the team to go the distance.

Players to watch out for:

Richard Levi (Northamptonshire):
He is one of those batsmen, who if he got going, can easily win you the games single-handedly. Levi has also played in all the seven matches his side has featured in so far and scored a total of 200 runs. His consistency can be gauged from the fact he’s hit just one fifty, and he could just be on the verge of something dramatic here.

Samit Patel (Nottinghamshire):
In a team that has some really big names in this format of the game, Patel’s 233 runs at 46 is the highest. He also has five wickets to his name at 23.8 with an economy of 7.43 that has contained the opposition batsmen well.

Nottinghamshire v Northamptonshire head to head:
This is a close rivalry with Nottinghamshire having won three of the five matches they have played against Northamptonshire. They do look like they have the team to make it their fourth win.

Nottinghamshire v Northamptonshire betting tips:
Nottinghamshire to win: 8/11
Alex Hales to be Nottinghamshire’s top batsman: 3/1
David Willey to be Northamptonshire’s top bowler

Match starts at 2.30 pm local time (1330 hours GMT) on June 27.
