Lancashire v Yorkshire betting tips & predictions NatWest T20 Blast 2015

In the war of the roses, Lancashire will host Yorkshire in their NatWest T20 Blast encounter on Friday. The Lancashire v Yorkshire betting tips can be found below and the match can be watched live on TV.

Lancashire won by 29 runs.

It’s a far closer season in the North Group this time and that gives both Lancashire and Yorkshire a good chance to still make the quarter-finals. But with not too many matches left for either teams, each of the remaining games become crucial for the sides and they will need to start winning almost every match.

Because that’s how they are placed on the points table. Lancashire have eight points from nine games, Yorkshire have a point less but have a game in hand. Yorkshire had started off with two wins from their first two matches, but their form seems to have tapered off just that little bit.

Why that’s quite surprising is because of the presence of two batsmen tailor-made for this format of the game, Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch, both of whom have struggled to get going. Maxwell’s made just 150 runs from seven games, Finch is on 43 from four.

Lancashire haven’t been able to string together too many wins. Their best has been a couple of victories in a row that they did but apart from that, a lack of consistency that’s needed even in this format of the game has been lacking.

For instance, in their last game against Warwickshire, they needed to chase down just 138 for a win but fell one run short of the win. It was a game they should have won but for a poor start with the bat.

For now, it looks like just James Faulkner is carrying them on their shoulders without too much from the rest of the players.

Players to watch out for:

Steven Croft (Lancashire):
As much as one is tempted to call Faulkner the player to watch out, contributions from the others are a must. Which is why captain Steven Croft needs to take on the mantle of a senior pro, get some runs under his belt and bowl out a few of his overs economically. Can he guide his team to a quarter-finals spot?

Maxwell & Finch (Yorkshire):
It’s been too many games since they haven’t fired. One of Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch needs to get going, and that will be all but enough to lead Yorkshire to a win, but can they get back into their groove? Coach Jason Gillespie will certainly hope so.

Lancashire v Yorkshire head to head:

It’s a tight one this between Lancashire and Yorkshire. Apart from one tied game between the two teams, Lancashire have won 10 and lost nine matches to Yorkshire in T20 cricket. It was 9-9 at the start of the season before Lancashire registered a stunning last ball win chasing 186 earlier this year.

Lancashire v Yorkshire betting tips:
Yorkshire to win: 4/5
Finch or Maxwell to be Yorkshire’s top batsman: 3/1
Steven Croft to be Lancashire’s top batsman: 4/1

Match starts at 6.30 pm local time (1730 hours GMT) on July 3.
