South Africa will begin their tour of Bangladesh with a T20I on Sunday, July 5. The game will be played at the Shere Bangla stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. Bangladesh v South Africa 1st T20I betting tips below.
We hit payday in this game. Not only did South Africa win this match, which was widely expected, Faf du Plessis and Shakib al Hasan top-scored for South Africa and Bangladesh respectively to get us another 3/3. A £10 bet on each of them would have earned you a profit of around £98 on just this one game!
Bangladesh will start with supreme confidence after their recent successes against Pakistan and India in the last two months however, the visitors are widely recognized as one of the best T20 sides in world cricket.
The Proteas have players in their ranks who could change the complexion of a game very easily and the hosts must be at their best to stand a chance against opponents of such pedigree. The South Africans will be on their first tour of Bangladesh after 2008 although they have played in Bangladesh for the World Cup in 2011 and the ICC World T20 in 2014.
The last time that these two sides met was back in 2011 when South Africa dismissed Bangladesh for 78 runs and ultimately sent them packing from the World Cup. As we head into this particular game however, the hosts are in a completely different frame of mind.
Bangladesh beat Pakistan in their only T20 international this year at Mirpur, days after they completed a limited overs series whitewash over Pakistan. However, the Tigers have not been the best sides in T20 cricket with a success rate of less than thirty percent in the format.
South Africa will be without some of their best bowlers with Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel missing from the squad. Skipper Faf du Plessis will however back his batsmen to get the side over the line in these upcoming matches. With a side that boasts big hitters such as Ab de Villiers, David Miller, and JP Duminy among others, the Proteas should not really have a lot of issues.
Shakib Al Hasan will hold the key for Bangladesh. Their ex-captain has been one of the best performers in T20 cricket for Bangladesh as well as for IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders. He is difficult to play in these conditions with the ball and he has played quite a few match-winning innings in his career thus far.
