Pakistan will look to pocket the series when they face off against Sri Lanka in the fourth ODI at the RPS in Colombo on Wednesday. Sri Lanka v Pakistan 4th ODI live streaming & betting tips can be found below.
Pakistan wrapped up the series against Sri Lanka by defeating them by seven wickets and with more than nine overs to spare.
It has been a surprising performance from Sri Lanka so far as they struggle to grapple with the absence of Kumar Sangakkara. After having lost a Test series they should have won, Sri Lanka now find themselves 2-1 down in the ODIs, with the latest defeat coming in the third match and by a whopping margin of 135 runs.
Pakistan’s 316 for four proved to be too strong for Sri Lanka to chase, whose batting has been quite patchy as compared to the visitors’ effort. Lack of form for Angelo Mathews hasn’t helped either and and the general absence of consistency in batting has made life miserable.
That Sri Lanka won the second ODI was thanks to a solo effort, a punishing 25-ball 68 for Kushal Perera because apart from that, the side looked to be skidding away to another defeat.
It’s been quite contrary to that from Pakistan. Mohammad Hafeez might have lost his right to bowl but his batting has come of age this series. Shoaib Malik, Azhar Ali, Sarfaraz Ahmed and even the inexperienced Mohammad Rizwan have all chipped in whenever required, leaving Sri Lanka with a lot to do.
What also adds to Sri Lanka’s woes is that the top bowlers’ chart has none of their countrymen in the top four; SS Pathirana is fifth behind Mohammad Hafeez, Rahat Ali, Yasir Shah and Anwar Ali, who have combined to pick up 21 wickets.
Players to watch out for:
Angelo Mathew (Sri Lanka):
Failures with the bat and below-par with the ball, Mathews has left his inexperienced side with a lot to do. As a captain he will know that there’s a lot riding on is shoulders and he needs to come good with at least one of the two departments. Expect him to change things around in this game.
Mohammad Hafeez (Pakistan):
Hafeez has been banned from bowling for 12 months because of his action and will have his batting alone to fall back upon. And he has done a good job with the bat so far, having scored a century and a fifty already. Can he push on to compensate for his lost bowling?
Sri Lanka v Pakistan ODIs head to head:
It’s 83-57 in favour of Pakistan with one other match having ended in a tie.
