Warwickshire v Northamptonshire betting tips NatWest T20 Blast 2015

Warwickshire take on Northamptonshire in their NatWest T20 Blast game on Wednesday at Birmingham. Warwickshire v Northamptonshire betting tips can be found below.

Result:

Warwickshire won by one run.

Overview:

It’s a game between two teams who are all but through to the quarter-finals. In case of Warwickshire they are assured of the knock-out berth but will want to finish off on a high going into a match of the importance of a quarter-final.

Apart from that, they would also want to end in the top two to ensure they can host the quarter-final. For now they are on 18 points with two games remaining and a win in either of those games should be enough to see them through to that spot.

Northamptonshire are on 15 points with a couple of matches to play. The only way they won’t be qualifying for the quarter-finals is if they lose both those games and Lancashire and Nottinghamshire win their last matches.

And if they can put it across Warwickshire in this one, they would have not only ensured qualification for the T20 Blast quarter-finals but also given themselves a chance to finish in the top two.

Warwickshire were on a roll before they lost their previous game to Lancashire. It was a game they should have won, as they first allowed their opposition to recover from 34 for four to post 145 before falling from 72 for two to 137 all out.

Nothamptonshire have won three in a row.

Players to watch out for:

Brendon McCullum (Warwickshire):

He might have top-scored for Warwickshire in the previous game but it was his wicket that started the rot for his side. Unfortunately for him, his teammates weren’t able to match his batting and the side fell away to a shock loss. McCullum will now look to take more onus on his shoulders to try and get his side over the line.

Richard Levi (Northamptonshire):

While Levi hasn’t actually dominated proceedings for his side, he is still the highest run-getter in the tournament for Northamptonshire. He’s a hard hitter of the ball and can take on the best of the bowlers at the top of the order – much like McCullum – which should make this an interesting battle between two aggressive opening bats.

Warwickshire v Northamptonshire head to head:

There have been 23 previous matches between these two teams and Warwickshire have won 14 and lost nine of them. Expect them to go to 15 in this one.

Warwickshire v Northamptonshire betting tips:

Warwickshire to win: 14/19
McCullum to be warwickshire’s top batsman: 3/1

Match starts at 6.30 pm local time (1730 hrs GMT) on July 22.
