Surrey v Kent betting tips Royal London One Day Cup Quarter-Final

The fourth quarter-final of the Royal London One Day Cup 2015 will have Surrey take on Kent at The Oval. The Surrey v Kent betting tips & predictions for this knock-out match can be found below.

Result:

Surrey won by 17 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis system as we had predicted for this game.

Overview:

Surrey topped their points table with 13 points from eight games and such was their domination that they would have qualified for the quarter-finals after having played just five of their eight league stage games. In those, they had four wins and the fifth had been abandoned due to rain, leaving them with nine points and enough in the bank to make it to the last eight.

They went on to win two more, ending up with 13 points out of a possible 16 and leaving the competition far behind them. As a reward for their effort, Surrey managed to get not only the top spot in their group but also a home quarter-final at The Oval.

Surrey’s march in the quarter-finals has been down to former England cricketer Steven Davies’ 475 runs in his six matches during the group stage. He smashed two centuries and a couple of fifties to boot, helping his side to some really convincing wins.

The bowling was evenly shared. What makes it even more wonderful is that Surrey have tried just six bowlers in the entire tournaments and the wickets taken by those six are anywhere between seven and 15. Only Zafar Ansari has conceded more than six an over in the competition.

Kent were on eight points going into the final group game and they were helped by their match ending abandoned and pushing them up to eight points, which was the same as Lancashire and Warwickshire Fortunately for them, their net run-rate was far better than the other two, and they scraped through.

Kent have had two batsmen chip in with more than 250 runs but that was almost not enough as discussed above. For them to have a chance in this game, both Sam Billings and Daniel Bell-Drummond will need to hit their straps quickly enough and try and bat the distance.

Darren Steven’s all-round skills could come in handy too but it’s quite clear Kent start off underdogs in this game.

Surrey v Kent Betting Tips:
Surrey to win: 4/6
Stevens to be Surrey’s top batsman: 3/1

Match starts at 2 pm local time (1300 hours GMT) on August 27.
