Britain no. 1 Andy Murray will cross paths with the Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, in the round two of the US Open 2015, on Thursday afternoon in New York. Andy Murray v Adrian Mannarino betting tips to follow.
Andy Murray needed to overcome a two set deficit to defeat Mannarino in five sets.
Murray’s opening match was against the young Australian Nick Kyrgios, who turned out to not much of a trouble for the third seed. He continued to play with finesse and finally won the match 7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, in under three hours, producing 18 aces in the course of the game.
On the other hand, Mannarino faced the Russian Konstantin Kravchuk, whom he moved past in straight sets 7-6(6), 6-4, 6-1.
Taking a look at his form, the world no. 35 has had a pretty average season so far. However, his US Open series was a really disastrous one. In fact, his win against the Russian was the first win he registered on the hard surface in the recent weeks.
However, in the ATP Bogota earlier this year, he was the runner-up, having lost to Bernard Tomic in the final. In the Miami Masters and Indian Wells too, he played quite well, reaching fourth round in both the cases.
As for Murray, he has had quite a busy season and has performed superbly throughout. The world no. 3 had an excellent run in the US Open series, having won the Rogers Cup (defeating Novak Djokovic) and reaching the semifinal in Cincinnati Masters.
Apart from this, he was also the semifinalist in Wimbledon and French Open, and also won the Madrid Masters.
This match will be an interesting one to see, but I don’t think Mannarino can win here. Murray is far too strong and much more experienced, and should reach the third round comfortably.
