India v South Africa 4th ODI betting tips & predictions at Chennai

India will be up against South Africa in the fourth ODI of the series on Thursday. The match will be played in Chennai and you can get all the India v South Africa 4th ODI betting tips, odds & predictions in the article below.

Overview:

The touring South African Proteas can secure an ODI series victory, to go with the 2-0 win in the T20I series, against India in Chennai on Thursday. Victory in Rajkot in the third match of the series, leaves the Proteas with a 2-1 lead, with only the fifth fixture in Mumbai on Sunday, left to play.

Although the widest winning margin in any of the three fixtures has been 22 runs, the Proteas have looked a class above their hosts, who are struggling to find the confidence to press home any slight advantages that they have gained through the series to date.

Quinton de Kock with a century, backed up by Faf du Plessis with 60, laid the foundations for the tourists final score of 270-7. Although having reached 205-2 with over 11 overs remaining, their final total was probably 30 runs short of what they might have hoped for.

The Indians then seemed to have batted themselves into a winning position, reaching 195-2, and Dhoni and Kohli at the e wicket, and nearly 10 overs left of their allotted 50.

However, Morne Morkel returned with a man of the match performance, taking the wickets of Dhoni, Kohli and Rahane, and in the space of four overs, the Indian challenge was destroyed. They were left on 216-6, and the tail enders were left with too much to do, to get their side over the line.

It was not all good news for the tourists however, as JP Duminy, who made 14 in Rajkot, was forced out of the remainder of the tour through injury. His place in the squad goes to Dean Elgar.

The tourists have produced some fine cricket in patches through the three ODI fixtures, but have yet to put everything together in one match. Should they do so, they are likely to severely embarrass their hosts, who are a shadow of the side that was World Champions as recently as 2011.
