Sussex Sharks will host Somerset in their second match of the NatWest T20 Blast 2016. The latest Sussex Sharks v Somerset betting tips for this NatWest encounter can be checked below.
Sussex Sharks managed to start their campaign on a winning note, but it was a match which would go down as one of the most memorable ones. Batting first against Gloucestershire, they managed to put up 242 runs on the board, losing just five wickets. All of their batsmen maintained an excellent strike rate, but it was Ross Taylor who blasted the opposing bowlers. The Kiwi batsman scored 93 runs in 48 deliveries, with eight sixes in his innings.
When they came to bowl, Gloucestershire started off well, scoring 83 runs in seven overs, losing only a wicket before rain stopped the play. D/L method was brought in play, as Sussex clinched the win by just one run.
Having gotten extremely lucky in this match, they will be eager to carry on the momentum against Somerset. However, the hosts are going to be on guard as their rivals started off decently. Somerset played Kent, where they lost by eight wickets. Despite putting 197 runs on the board, their bowling wasn’t up to the mark, as the opposition chased down this target comfortably.
They have got a much stronger batting line up at the moment, with Chris Gayle expected to be joining in soon. Jim Allenby appears to be in a good form, having scored 91 against Kent. But when it comes to bowling, it is Sussex with the upper hand here. Following his success in the Indian Premier League, Mustafizur Rahman is going to join the side, which means a lot of trouble for the other teams.
This is going to be a high octane match in terms of runs, but weather may play the spoil sport. At the moment, both the sides appear to be evenly matched and it can go either way.
Sussex Sharks v Somerset head-to-head
Somerset leads 4-2 in the head to head tally. At this psychological advantage, they will be the favorite ones.
