European champions Real Madrid will look to add another title to their kitty when they start off the competition as defending champions. Check out all the Champions League betting tips for the 2017-18 season below.
Champions League qualifying is already underway, with the competition beginning in earnest with the start of the group phases in September.
However, come the knock-off phase of the competition, it is difficult to see beyond the usual list of suspects – Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich – as probably winners when the final reaches Kiev next May.
Early favourites must be Real Madrid, winners for the past two seasons, and 12 times record winners of the competition.

Current La Liga champions, they comprehensively outplayed Juventus in last season’s final, and can be expected to be strong again, especially if their strike force of Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema is augmented by the marquee signing of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.
The other two Spanish clubs and bitter rivals of Real, Barcelona and Atlético, must also be considered strong contenders.
Barcelona lost their La Liga title to Real last season and despite overturning a four goal deficit to beat PSG over two legs, their Champions League campaign was ended emphatically at the Quarter-Final stage by Juventus.
This time around, under new coach Ernesto Valverde, they will be looking to go further in all competitions, although their success may be dependent on keeping either Neymar or finding a replacement.
However, any team with Lionel Messi in it always has a chance. With two final, and one semi-final appearance in the past four years, Atlético’s recent Champions League pedigree is not in doubt, and they can expect to perform well again this year, although their current European transfer ban means they have not been able to strengthen their squad this summer.
Away from Spain, last season’s runners-up Juventus, will be expected to go far in the competition again, although there may be psychological scars from the Cardiff defeat to Real which may prevent them claiming the ultimate prize.
Bayern Munich can also expect to go far again this season, but have failed to progress beyond the semi-final stage since 2013, and may need a favourable draw this time round if they are to reach the final.
Paris Saint-Germain are another big club who will hope to do well, although they have a poor track record when it comes to reaching the business end of the tournament.
Elsewhere whilst England will have five teams competing this time round, courtesy of Manchester United’s win in last season’s Europa League, it is hard to see any of them, with the possible exceptions of Manchester City and Chelsea, reaching the final rounds of the competition.
Both teams have spent big money adding to their squads this season, and will hope this investment helps improve the recent poor performance of English teams in the competition.
