India v South Africa 3rd ODI betting tips & predictions

India will hope they can kick on from the momentum they got in the previous game when they play South Africa in the third ODI at Rajkot. Get the latest India v South Africa 3rd ODI betting tips, odds & predictions below.

South Africa beat India by 22 runs to go 2-1 up in the series.

India finally managed to record a victory over the touring South African Proteas, when they won the second ODI in Indore on Wednesday by 22 runs, to square the five match series at 1-1.

The sides now head to Rajkot for the third of the five scheduled 50-over per side fixtures.

For much of the Indian innings in Indore, it looked as if the Proteas would continue on their winning way, and to continue to pile the pressure on the home selectors and players alike.

That is until the man who was probably under greater pressure than anyone else, the skipper MS Dhoni, took centre stage and posted 92 not out, which lifted his side to 247-9, and gave them at least a chance.

The rest of the side seemed to respond to the leader’s efforts, and the tourists lose wickets at regular intervals in their reply, and only Faf du Plessis with 51, was able to post a half-century.

Although the hosts have now got a win under their belts, they don’t look like a side that is likely to build on that success.

The Indore success was built on the skill of a single individual, and the visitors having something of an off day, something that seems unlikely to happen again. It is not like this Proteas side to miss the chance to press home any advantage that they carve out, and India will surely not get so lucky again.

Rajkot will be staging only its second ever ODI, the previous game being in January 2013, when England were the visitors, posting 325-5 and winning the match by nine runs.

The conditions for an ODI in October are therefore, completely unknown, but the bat has held sway over the ball in the first two fixtures, and it would be no surprise to see a similar pattern in the next clash between the sides.
