Australia v New Zealand 2nd Test betting tips & predictions

Australia will look to seal the series when they take on New Zealand in the second Test of the series at the WACA in Perth from Friday. Australia v New Zealand 2nd Test betting tips & predictions can be found below.

Match ended in a high-scoring draw.

Australia take a 1-0 lead to the WACA in Perth for the second Test of the three match series against their neighbours from across the Tasman, New Zealand.

Although the ground is no longer the quick and bouncy venue that was once feared by visitors from the world over, it is still the stadium most suited to Australia’s fast bowling attack, and with the Black Caps squad being completely empty of anyone who has experienced a Test match atmosphere at the ground, the visitors look as if they will have their work cut out to keep the series alive going into the final match at Adelaide.

Leading Kiwi batsmen Brendon McCullum, Tom Latham and Ross Taylor were all exposed by the Australian pace attack in Brisbane, and they are sure to find themselves once more under severe examination.

Mitchell Johnson, who in recent years has become the darling of the WACA crowd, will be keen to perform for his adoring public once more, as he approaches the end of a brilliant career.

With Mitchell Marsh and Adam Voges also in the side, Western Australia will have their biggest representation for a home Test since 2007/08.

Such is the mental frailty in the New Zealand camp following the overwhelming defeat at the Gabba, or more particularly the nature of that loss, that they are prepared to gamble on the fitness of Tim Southee in Perth.

Although confident that he will have recovered from a disc irritation, they may still pick four other seamers to offer cover should the right-arm quick break down once more.

Quite surprisingly, the Black Caps have a very good record at the WACA over the past 30 years, having lost just one of the five Test matches that they have played at the venue, with three other games drawn.
