Hampshire will be up against Kent in their NatWest T20 Blast 2015 encounter on Friday with the two teams gunning for their second win in the competition. Get the latest Hampshire v Kent betting tips below.
Story so far:
Both teams registered fighting wins in their respective first games of the tournament. Propped by an unbeaten 55 off 25 deliveries from Jimmy Adams, Hampshire piled up 173/4 in their 20 overs before Yasir Arafat grabbed three wickets to restrict Essex to 156.
At one stage, Essex were very much in with a chance to chase it down and even with 38 runs required from the last three overs they had had a decent chance to usurp their opponents. Hampshire’s bowling squeezed the pressure back on to their opponents.
Earlier, Michael Carberry, James Vince and Owais Shah had also scored useful 30s for Hampshire.
Sam Northeast and Sam Billings smashed 40s but a late-order collapse left Kent with 185/9 from their 20 overs when they could have easily crunched 200 had their middle-order gotten moving.
And when their opponents, Sussex gotten themselves to 81 without loss in the eighth over, it looked like they were headed to an easy win. James Tredwell picked up Luke Wright and Mitchell Claydon finished up with 2-29 from his four overs to choke the opposition to seven runs short of the target.
What’s interesting to see is that Kent haven’t gone for any overseas player for the NatWest T20 Blast this season and that lack of experience could be telling.
Carberry & Arafat (Hampshire):
It’s interesting to note that both Carberry and Arafat played for the Perth Scorchers last season when they won the Big Bash League. They could prove to be a couple of very vital cogs in the wheels of the Hampshire campaign and their experience at winning a Twenty20 title could prove to be a huge motivator. To go with that, both Carberry and Arafat had a good start to the season.
James Tredwell (Kent):
Kent will need Tredwell to come good time and again this season if they want to go the distance, given their lack of big-ticket players otherwise. Tredwell himself has a lot to prove to the England selectors and a good showing or two in the NatWest T20 Blast might go a long way in helping his own cause.

Of the 19 matches played between these two teams, Hampshire have won 11 and lost seven. One other game ended in a tie. Last season, Hampshire won both their encounters batting first against Kent, by 22 runs at Southampton and by 47 runs at Canterbury.
