India v Pakistan betting tips

India v Bangladesh betting tips for Champions Trophy 2017 can be found at the end of this article. India will look to make it to their second successive final at the Champions Trophy when they take on the resurgent Bangladesh in their last-four game on Thursday, June 15.

Venue: Edgbaston, Birmingham
Time: 10.30 am local (3 pm India time)

Current situation:

India’s route to the semi-final looked more or less settled when they smashed their arch-rivals Pakistan by a humongous margin in their opener. But then came the twist. Sri Lanka pulled off a beauty in the second round of matches, chasing down India’s score of 300-plus and that, along with South Africa’s defeat to Pakistan, meant India needed to win their last game against South Africa to qualify for the last-four.

If the Indian fans were worried that was going to be difficult against a team like South Africa, ranked number one in the world, they needn’t be. India bowled South Africa out for a sub-200 score and chased it down easily in less than 40 overs to make it to the semi-final.

India’s issue has been to try and restrict teams in chases and with Bangladesh having shown what they can do, it could be down to the toss.

Bangladesh should have probably never qualified for the semi-final. They lost their opener to England and then were on the verge of going to Australia as well before rain intervened.

What that meant was that Bangladesh got away with a solitary point against the Aussies, and then, when they did beat New Zealand in their final game, they were able to nudge both, Australia and the Kiwis down the table.

Bangladesh and India have a recent rivalry that borders on the bitter and it will be interesting to see how they go in this encounter. Incidentally this is the first time ever that Bangladesh have made the semi-final of an ICC event.

India wouldn’t want to change a winning combination but there’s a catch here. They had brought in R Ashwin for the previous game, making it two spinners in their line-up but that was against a side that tends to struggle against spinners. Against Bangladesh they might want to revert back to their four pace bowler strategy.

India’s expected playing XI:
Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Kedar, Hardik, Ashwin/Umesh/Shami, Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar, Bumrah.

Bangladesh could play the same XI that got the better of New Zealand with Taskin Ahmed getting a go ahead of Mehedi Hasan.

Bangladesh’s expected playing XI:

India v Bangladesh head to head in ODIs:

India are 26-5 on head to head against the Bangladeshi side but the last time these two sides played in an ODI series, Bangladesh had won it 2-1. That came at the end of the 2015 World Cup where India outplayed Bangladesh in the quarter-final in a controversy-filled game.
