Bangladesh v India 2nd ODI betting tips & predictions – India desperate to win

Bangladesh will look to seal their first ever series win against India when the two teams meet in the second of three ODIs of the series at Dhaka. The Bangladesh v India 2nd ODI betting tips can be found below.

Bangladesh clinch the series by beating India by six wickets and with nine overs to spare.

Story so far:

India had entered the opening encounter as favourites but their defeat would have come out as a shock. Not only did they go down, but they also went down in a hurry. Sealing the deal further was the manner in which the Indian batsmen – their biggest strength – failed to come to terms against the Bangladeshi speedsters in their 300-plus chase.

Indian captain MS Dhoni accepted in his press conference that his bowlers had failed to bowl it in the right areas while their Bangladeshi counterparts had managed to do just that. What he should have also seen is the way his own batsmen batted.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, who survived two chances from Mushfiqur Rahim, had given India the kind of start they needed chasing a total of more than 300. They added 95 for the first wicket in as many deliveries and 308 should have been chased down after that.

However, the wicket of Virat Kohli and the manner in which Ajinkya Rahane fell after struggling to time the ball through the initial part of his innings pulled them down in a hurry.

As a result, a match they should have won was lost by a whopping 79 runs.

India looked rusty but this bitter loss would have come as a wakeup call. With the support of everyone in the stadium against India, it’s not something they are too used to in this day and age wherever they play. It should be interesting to see how they respond to the opposition.

Mustafizur Rahman did not start off too well and was even involved in a a couple of collisions with the Indians which could well have been construed as deliberate. However, he came back well to pick up five wickets, including the well-set Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina to trigger off an Indian collapse.

This was after Tamim Iqbal had given Bangladesh a rocking start, smashing a run-a-ball 60. Shakib al Hasan chipped in with a half-century of his own and pushed them to 307.

Players to watch out:

Taskin Ahmed (Bangladesh):

While the night belonged to Mustafizur on Thursday, Taskin Ahmed ended with figures of 2/21 from his six overs. He seemed to have been deliberately underbowled to now allow the lower-order to have a look at him and he will look to continue to torment India again. His record against India is excellent, having troubled the Indian batsmen in the World Cup as well.

Virat Kohli (India):

In his last three games including the opening ODI of this series, Kohli has had three single-digit scores. Before the start of the World Cup, he had a poor run in the ODI tri-series as well, which he had overcome by hitting a century against Pakistan. But it’s these failures that will be a big bother for Kohli and he will try and get off to a start here.

Bangladesh v India ODIs head to head:

That was their fourth win for Bangladesh who will now be hunting for their first ever series victory over India. India have won 25 of the matches.
