These players will be selected from the squads of the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals, which means there’s every chance the Pune side will pick someone like MS Dhoni as their first pick.
More details on the Pune squad for the IPL 9 will be released on December 15.
The 2016 IPL auction will be held on February 9, where all eight teams including New Rising Pune will be eligible to pick their respective squads.
The New Rising Pune squad for IPL 9 – with both domestic and overseas players in the line-up – will be announced soon and we will update it in the lead-up to the IPL 2016.
MS Dhoni was the first player to be picked in the IPL 2015 Draft, before they followed it up with Ajinkya Rahane, R Ashwin, Steven Smith and Faf du Plessis. What that does is essentially not allow Pune any all-rounder picks, thereby making it tougher for them during the auction which will be held in February 2016.
MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh, Ankit Sharma, Rajat Bhatia, Ishwar Pandey, M Ashwin, Ankush Bains, Thsiara Perera, Baba Aparjith, Deepak Chahar, Ashok Dinda, Jaskaran Singh, Saurabh Tiwary
Steven Smith, Faf du Plessis, Kevin Pietersen, Mitchell Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Scott Boland, Adam Zampa, Albie Morkel
