French Ligue 1 Betting Tips & Live Streaming for 2018-19 season

Ligue 1 for 2018 – 2019 gets underway on Friday, August 10, when Marseille host Toulousen and you can find all the French Ligue 1 betting tips, odds and predictions for this season below.

As with last season, it is not a question of which team will win the league – you will have to go a long way to find anybody willing to bet against PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) – but who will follow them, and in what order?

Domestic treble winners two out of the last three years, PSG can again expect to dominate under new head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Transfer activity has been limited so far to the trimming of the squad, and the conversion of World Cup star Kylian Mbappe’s loan move into a permanent deal. However, they have strength all over the pitch, and with their star trio of Mbappe, Edison Cavani and Neymar (barring any late transfer to Real Madrid), they have more than enough to overpower most other teams.

Monaco finished second last year, and manager Leonardo Jardim will need to repeat his trick of unearthing new superstars, as yet again he goes into a season having sold some of this best players, Thomas Lemar having left for Atlético Madrid, and Fabinho for Liverpool.

However, they have signed a host of new young players, including 16-year old Willem Geubells from Lyon for €20 million, and Russian World Cup star Aleksandr Golovin, and given the club’s consistent ability to punch above its weight, another runners-up spot could be beckoning.

Lyon and Marseille finished third and fourth respectively last season, but the positions may be reversed this time round. There have been no significant arrivals or departures at Marseille, although Italian striker Mario Balotelli continues to be linked with the club, but they have a settled squad and they will be strong, particularly at home.

For Lyon, much may depend on if they can hang on to the services of their captain and playmaker Nabil Fekir, who was on the verge of joining Liverpool in June only for the deal to fall through at the very last minute. However, there is talk that the deal may yet be revived, and, if Fekir is sold, Lyon may struggle to replace his creativity and goals.

In terms of the contest for European places at the end of the season, Bordeaux, despite the loss of star winger Malcom to Barcelona, can expect to be in the mix, along with Montpellier and Saint-Etienne.

Elsewhere, the progress of Nice will be closely watched because the club is now managed by Patrick Vieira, former Arsenal and France legend, and many will want to see how he gets on with his first senior job in Europe.

At the bottom, newly-promoted Reims and Nimes may struggle, along with Toulouse, who only managed to survive last campaign thanks to a highly-controversial play-off win against Ajaccio.
