Indian Premier League Squads (IPL) Teams for the 2017 Season

The next edition of the successful Indian Premier League will be its 10th. Teams will be looking to keep their main players and will hope to strengthen their squad further to maximize their chance of success and the Indian Premier League squads for 2017 can be found below after the IPL Draft.

Here’s all information on how you can buy the IPL tickets for 2017

After spending the biggest in IPL 8 auction, Delhi Daredevils have a finely balanced squad. Led by Jean-Paul Duminy, the team has some top players like Yuvraj Singh, Angelo Matthews, Zaheer Khan, Amit Mishra and Albie Morkel.

Kings XI Punjab had a disappointing campaign in 2015 finishing last but they have some big names in the squad. Players like George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Marsh are all experienced international players who can help Punjab climb to the top of the pile but Virender Sehwag’s retirement will hit them to an extent.

Kolkata Knight Riders have always been the maverick team of IPL. Capable of the sublime and the awful, the team’s fortunes swings a lot. However with players like captain Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan, Morne Morkel, Sunil Narine, Shakib Al Hasan, Patrick Cummins and Ryan Doeschate they have the squad to upset the apple cart and become the champions once again. Interestingly, Trevor Bayliss is no longer the coach of the side and Jacques Kallis will take over the reins.

The team with the most number of titles, Mumbai Indians still have arguably the best team in the tournament. Captained by Rohit Sharma, Mumbai has players of the class of Harbhajan Singh, Kieron Pollard, Aaron Finch and Lasith Malinga to call upon. Young talents like Abhimanyu Mithun are also in their ranks.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have always flattered to deceive but with players like Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers in the team they have one of the strongest batting line-ups.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad joined the IPL in place of Deccan Chargers. Although they have yet to register their first title, they have a very strong squad with the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma, David Warner, Dale Steyn, Eoin Morgan, Kevin Pietersen and Kane Williamson to count upon.

Chennai Super Kings & Rajasthan Royals have been suspended by the IPL for the next two seasons of the competition, which means two new teams will be added to the tournament for that period.

Two new teams, Pune and Rajkot have been added the 2016 edition of the IPL. These two teams will be involved in an IPL Draft to begin with in which the likes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja from the Chennai Super Kings and Steven Smith, Shane Watson, James Faulkner, Tim Southee and Ajinkya Rahane of the Rajasthan Royals could well be selected before they join the other teams in the IPL 2016 Auction.
