The schedule for the next edition of the Ashes has been announced and you can find all the Ashes betting tips below for this 2019 series in Australia below. We will also update the latest Ashes odds after every Test.
In the previous Ashes, Australia ran away winners in the first Test, clinching the tie by 10 wickets on day five of the game. For the first three days of the Test match things looked to be evenly contested and there were enough times during the match when England looked like they were on the top too before Steven Smith led Australia to that win.
It was Smith’s solid century and an English second innings capitulation at the hands of the Aussie bowlers which set up a target of 170 for the hosts. And while it could have turned into a tricky chase, the Aussie openers David Warner and Cameron Bancroft guided them to a 10-wicket win.
This was followed by a near turnaround by England when they overcame a 200-plus run deficit to almost chase down a 300-plus score but Australia held on to their nerves and managed to clinch the second Test and make it 2-0.
England were nowhere in the picture after that despite fighting hard in the Boxing Day Test match and lost the series 4-0.
Ashes Betting Tips 2019 Series:
What Happened in Previous Ashes:
2017-18 Ashes in Australia:
Australia ran away crushing winners over England, bagging the Ashes series 4-0 with one Test match drawn. England were in the series only in the first Test where they conceded a lead of a mere 26 runs on the first innings but collapsed horribly in the second to lose by 10 wickets.
England had their chances in both, the second and third Test match but never came close to competing on all the days of the game, and even when they took a 164-run lead in the fourth, they weren’t able to bowl Australia out in the fourth match at the MCG. They were crushed in the final Test.
2015 Ashes in the UK:
After being crushed 5-0 in their previous Ashes series, England had entered the 2015 Ashes as second-favourites to Australia but had the home advantage.
And it was that very home advantage they used to overcome the Aussies, what with the likes of Mitchell Johnson and Steven Smith deflated by the England side to a huge extent
As a result, England went on to win the Ashes 2015 series 3-2, having sealed the win in the fourth Test match itself. It also led to a spate of Aussie retirements including that of captain Michael Clarke.
